ySense Review

ySense is a get-paid-to (GPT) platform (website and app) that pays you for taking surveys, completing offers, playing games and more.

It’s actually the rebranded version of the ClixSense site that was founded in 2007 and is now owned by Prodege, the same company behind Swagbucks and InboxDollars/InboxPounds. In fact, users of these sites will see that ySense is very similar and effectively a more minimal reskin.

What is ySense?

ysense review header

ySense is essentially a minimalistic GPT site that is a scaled down version of Swagbucks/InboxPounds/InboxDollars.

As mentioned, ySense was formerly known as ClixSense. ClixSense launched back in 2007 and originally paid users to click on ads (PTC model). They eventually shifted away from PTC  and focused entirely on surveys, offers, and playing games. In around 2019, the site rebranded to ySense and became part of Prodege.

If you’ve used sites like Swagbucks, ySense will feel quite familiar and will more often than not contain the exact same listing of offers.

It’s available worldwide, so anyone can join. But all that said, is it worth trying out over Swagbucks? And is ySense a legit way to earn online or just a waste of time? I’ve tested it out myself over the years, and I’ll share everything I’ve learned in this complete review and earning guide.

After evaluating ySense, we’re satisfied that it is a legitimate and safe way to earn money online. Jump down to see the full legitimacy and safety checks. Or read on for the full review and earning guide.

How to Make Money With ySense

How Does it Work?

For the most part, ySense works like any other GPT site. You sign up and then start completing the available tasks to earn money. The process is straightforward. Just pick a survey or an offer, such as playing a mobile game from the list, complete it, and you’ll earn the specified amount of cash.

Mobile offers work a little differently and generally have a breakdown of multiple goals, such as reaching certain levels or completing certain actions.

Once you earn enough, and the cash moves from pending to complete, you can withdraw in several ways, which I’ll go into detail on below.

One thing of note that I really like is the consistency bonus they offer for active users. If you complete a couple of tasks each day, you qualify for a daily percentage bonus on your earnings (more on this later in the guide). It’s a nice little incentive to keep using the site regularly. I’ve not seen this on other GPT sites, which typically give a set daily bonus rather than a percentage.

Ways to Earn

So, onto the ways you can earn money with ySense. It is a minimal site, but there is a nice selection of ways to earn. So let’s look at how you make money with ySense? At a high level, you can earn cash with ySense in the following ways:

  • Mobile gaming offers (offerwall), including 3rd party TapJoy offers.
  • Sign-ups & Free Trials.
  • Surveys.
  • Daily bonus (percentage of the day’s earnings).
  • Referral program.

But before we go into more detail for each, you need to get started and join ySense.

Getting Started

There’s nothing complicated here. Just head over to ySense and register. Unfortunately there are no sign-up bonuses, but the daily percentage bonus more than makes up for it.

1. Mobile Gaming Offers (Offerwalls)

As with most GPT sites, the most profitable way to earn on ySense is the mobile gaming offers. Now, there is a very unusual quirk with ySense in that mobile gaming offers are available on the site only. At least for us, within the mobile app, we could not see any mobile gaming offers. Very counterintuitive but there you go…

There are two offerwalls. The built in ySense offerwall, and a third party offerwall provided by TapJoy. They have a different selection of games so make sure to check out both. In some cases, the same games will be there but one offerwall will earn you more than the other.

ySense has some astonishingly high-paying mobile game offers.

Top Tip: Make sure you use offerwall game guides to speed up your progress and earn rewards more quickly.

Start Mobile Game Tasks From The Website

This is advice that I’ve never had to give for a GPT site, and that is to NOT start tasks from the ySense app. This is because bizarrely, the mobile offers do not appear in the mobile app… go figure. You will be given a link that you can then click on mobile to take you to the Google or Apple app stores to download the game and start earning.

Everything should track automatically as you progress with any given game.

I would even go as far as to say avoid the app altogether, as it really is a poor representation of the website.

Expected Earnings: $150 - $200 a Month

Just like its sister sites, you can expect to earn around $150 – $200 a month. This will of course vary depending on how much time you put into it and the quality of the offers at any given time.

Earning Tips

To extract the most cash in as little time as possible from ySense, make sure that you follow these simple tips, rules, and strategies:

  1. Choose the highest-paying offers, but make sure the tasks are achievable first.
  2. Check out our Offerwall Guides for specific games to speed up your progression.
  3. Try to have 2, and no more than 3 gaming offers running at the same time. We have found that this is the perfect amount that remains manageable while doubling or trebling your earnings in a month.
  4. Cross-check against the higher paying GPT sites such as Reward XP, Freecash, and Gain.gg. Sometimes you can even earn double the amount for the same game/tasks.

2. Sign-Up Offers etc.

With sign-up offers, you’re typically going to see free trials that give you a small amount of cash. Now the trick here is to make sure your free trial doesn’t roll over into a paid month. There aren’t a massive number of such deals at any one time, but certainly enough to scoop up some of the easiest cash you’ve ever made.

Remember, set an alert or a reminder on your phone so you do not forget to cancel the trial before you get charged when it’s finished!

Expected Earnings

Because there isn’t much of a selection here, you can expect to earn around $10-$15. Offers cycle so you will see new ones pop-up over time. So don’t see this as a once-and-done but access to easy cash, albeit a small amount, constantly over time.

3. Paid Surveys

Paid surveys are up next, and like all good GPT sites, ySense has a seemingly unlimited amount to complete.

There is a dedicated “Surveys” section listing available surveys with their reward amounts (shown in dollars, like $0.50, $1.20, etc., since ySense operates in USD) and estimated time to complete.

ySense survey router
ySense survey router example surveys.

The survey opportunities come from different providers, and as I’ve previously stated in other reviews, CPX surveys are where we personally find most success. When you click on a survey, ySense will redirect you to the survey router and through to the survey itself. Complete the questions honestly until you reach the end, and if you’re not disqualified, and get the reward credited to your account balance.

And this is the unfortunate situation with all survey routers. You may get disqualified (DQ’d). Not by doing anything wrong, but simply because you don’t meet the target demographic. Fortunately, most surveys will DQ you early on so you don’t waste too much time. Still, something to bear in mind.

Expected Earnings

Looking at surveys on ySense, we were able to attain an average of $2 – $3 per hour. Not big bucks, but as you can see in the table below, if you put in the time you can boost your monthly income by a decent amount with surveys alone.

Disqualifications waste your time, but this is factored into the hourly rate. And of course, your own demographics (age, sex, location, job, salary, etc.) will affect your acceptance and disqualification rate, which will in turn affect your hourly earnings.

Hours Per Day Earnings Per Month
1 hour per day:
$60 – $90 per month.
2 hours per day:
$120 – $160 per month.
5 hours per day:
$300 – $450 per month.

As you can see, even with a low hourly rate, earnings can jump up if you dedicate a few hours a day.

You’re not going to get rich off these surveys, but if you have the need for additional cash, it’s easy money that can be earned from the comfort of your own sofa.

Practically we think 2 or 3 hours a day is the max you should be aiming for, as anything above that and you’ll burn out quickly.

Earning Tips

Whenever you do paid surveys online, there are set “golden rules” that you absolutely must stick to in order to earn the maximum amount of cash:

  1. Be honest and be consistent. It may be tempting to lie about your demographic to get more surveys but this will only lead to bans. The survey routers will learn your demographic over time and you’ll get more correctly target surveys. Don’t lie!
  2. Determine the per-minute rate for surveys. For example, a 1 minute survey that pays $0.20 ($0.20 per minute), is better than a 5 minute survey that pays $0.60 ($0.12 per minute). Always go for higher earnings per minute.

4. Daily Percentage Bonus

Now onto the thing I love about ySense. This is something that its sister site Swagbucks does not provide. And that is the daily percentage bonus.

ysense review daily percent checklist bonus

This alone makes it more profitable than Swagbucks as all offers are identical, but with ySense, you get that additional percentage of earnings on top!

Instead of getting fractions of a dollar for consecutive days where you earn, ySense actually boosts your earnings by between 6% and 8%. So for example, if you earn $10 in a day your actual earnings will be $10.60 – $10.80. But imagine you complete a $100 offerwall offer, that will now earn you $106 – $108 instead. Not bad, just for an activity streak.

All you need to do is complete 2 surveys or 2 offerwall offers (gaming offers, etc.) in a day. We advise surveys as they are quicker and will be credited within the day. This will net you the 6% bonus.

If you do this for 3 days in a row, then every day after that, you will get the 8% bonus.

Note, if you miss a day, your progress gets reset, and you’ll be back to 6%.

5. Referral Program

ySense also has a nice referral program. For those that are not familiar, if you share your referral link and others sign up, ySense will pay you. The person who signs up doesn’t see any impact, as all earnings come to you from ySense themselves.

Unlike other referral programs, you actually earn in a few ways:

  1. You get between $0.10 and $0.30 for everyone who signs up via your link.
  2. You get an additional $2.00 when they earn their first $5.00.
  3. And finally, you get 10% of the value of everything they earn. (This does not decrease their earnings; it comes directly from ySense).

A really nice referral program that continues to pay you long term.

Is ySense Legit & Safe, or is it Scam?

This is the key question, as always. Is ySense legit, safe, and does it pay out? With all the positives above, you’ll be happy to know that it is 100% legit, and we have personally cashed out multiple times.

It is part of the Protege family, which includes Swagbucks, so you know that the site is in good company.

3rd Party Reviews & Ratings

Trustpilot

From a more consolidated view, we can see that ySense gets a respectable 3.3 rating on Trustpilot as of writing. While this could be better, looking into the reviews, we can see why.

A lot of the reviews mention how poor the mobile app is, and I agree. I mentioned that I would always opt for the ySense website over the app. The app does not show all offers and really feels broken at times. But the good news is the site is of course fully functional on mobile.

Another issue people have is slow payment. Similar to Swagbucks it can take 5-7 days for payout. Not great, but again not bad.

How to Get Paid by ySense?

Your earnings on ySense are measured in USD ($) regardless of which country you live in. But when you have enough to cashout, you will see gift cards relevant to your country, PayPal etc. in your own currency. A conversion happens if USD is not your local currency.

Minimum Withdrawal & Payout Options

ySense offers many gift cards, but the king of withdrawals will always be PayPal, cold hard cash, which they also provide.

Paypal withdrawal is also nice and low at around $5 – $10 (depending on your local currency). Gift cards vary:

Payout Speed

The payout speed from ySense is stated to be around 3-5 days. Our experience is that it generally takes the full week. This isn’t especially great, but it’s not overly bad either.

If you find that a week has passed, then there are reports that a quick support ticket can get the payment cleared quickly, which is good to hear.

ySense Review Summary: Pros & Cons

Pros

  • High paying mobile offers.
  • Percentage bonuses.
  • Simple interface.

Cons

  • Mobile app is poor.

ySense is the sister site, and effectively a clone of Swagbucks. It is a minimalistic version that focuses mainly on Mobile gaming offerwall offers and surveys, which are the main earners anyway.

Interestingly, though, its percentage-based bonus for active earning streaks puts it ahead of Swagbucks and makes every offer 6% – 8% more profitable. People tend to lean to Swagbucks because of how well known it is, but from a purely financial point of view, ySense is the clear winner.

ySense FAQ

There’s always more to ask, so even though we’ve laid out the full ySense review and guide above, we’ve packed some extra information into our FAQ.

In our opinion, no Swagbucks is not better than ySense. With ySense’s additional 6% – 8% bonus on all earnings above what Swagbucks offers, it makes it the clear choice.

Yes it does, but we advise against using it. Just stick with the mobile website because the app is clunky and for some reason does not show all of the offers that are available on the site.

No you can’t complete the same offers on both Swagbucks and ySense. If you have completed it on one site, and try again on the other it will not credit. In fact you may even risk your account as it could be seen as trying to “game the system”.

Final Thoughts: Is it Worth it?

ySense is definitely worth it, and not to sound like a broken record, it is more profitable for you than Swagbucks. That extra 6% to 8% earnings make it a no-brainer.

We also like the minimalist nature of the site, where you can focus on the main earning activities like surveys and mobile gaming offers without any of the additional “fluff.”
