Campaign (Dogs of War)

This is the battle section of the game as is purely dependant on how many troops you have. The strategy here is to keep pushing forwards until the next battle will result in a loss of all troops. So for example, if in the previous battle you lost 100,000 men, and you only have 98,000 left, don’t push forwards as you’ll lose. 

When you get to the boss, no troops are involved, it’s based on your heroes’ power – which you should be constantly building up over time. Without really trying, we NEVER lost a boss battle.

Throne Room

[Collect grain/troops/coins & royal decrees required for Main Questline]

Here you have two areas:

On the left is the levy. Claim these as soon as they become available. They restore over time so make sure to keep claiming. You will also earn seals over time that let you get another levy of your choice – save these until a main quest item such as “Levy grain 100 times” shows up and you’re short – this will remove that particular blockage for you.

On the right is the royal decree. Again, claim whenever you can – and they will restore over time. You have the choice between coins/troops/grain/tomes and exp. Never choose Exp unless the other option is grain. 

During our entire playthrough, we NEVER came close to running out of gain so it’s pointless to choose it. And again, you will gain seals as rewards over time that can give you extra decrees. Save these until you’re low on gold or troops and hope you get that option.

Heroes

Maidens -> Children -> Marriages

Just like levies, random visits to maidens are available and recharge over time. Keep using them when available.

At a certain point, you will also get quests to directly visit maidens by clicking into the maiden then visit. This costs gems and you’ll probably be shocked to see if you click the top maiden that it costs 800 gems a visit! Don’t despair though, once you have a few maidens, scroll down and click on the bottom one – you’ll only pay 20 gems a visit making it manageable.

From time to time they will produce a baby. When this happens head to the royal chambers and level them up – again this will recharge over time. However, it will not be enough to fully level them up so don’t be afraid to spam any Energy Draughts you have to be able to level them up more.

When fully levelled they will turn into adults. Back out of the children screen and select marriages. This is a bit confusing but click proposal requests first – you might see someone wanting to marry the offspring. Select it if there is. If not, go to unmarried children and select propose. Make sure that “broadcast the proposal” is checked, choose silver dowry if you have it or gems if not and then click run a wide search. This will pretty much guarantee a marriage after some time.

Processions

[Processions and use of goodwill draughts required for Main Questline]

Again, ensure you use the free processions that will recharge over time. Use Goodwill Draughts as soon as you get them to start building up resources.

Tourneys

[Fighting in the tourney grounds and using the challenge token are required for Main Questline]

When Tourneys open up, make sure to enter them when you can. Of particular importance, as mentioned in the “Blockages” section is the challenge tokens that will allow you to get revenge on others. Using this is less than straightforward.

How to get revenge/use challenge tokens:

1. Go to City in the bottom left and then all the way on the left choose Tourney Grounds:

2. Click the horse on the Tourney Grounds screen.

3. Click the Revenge tab at the top, then click the revenge button next to a player that has attacked you.

As soon as this is open to you and you have challenge tokens, keep checking this area. Revenge is only possible after someone has attacked you which is RARE. From what we observed, there was only ever one revenge possible at a time. This is part of a quest so make sure you do these as soon as they’re available.

Check back frequently as options for revenge don’t show very often and can become a blockage later on.

Dungeon

Claim and use redeemable items from bag

As above, use your tomes, manuscripts etc. but also all other redeemables:

Tip: Call to Arms, War Funds, Rations, Exp Bags, Caches, Chests, Silver Tiaras should all be redeemed from your bag as soon as you’re rewarded them.

Claim everything you can

As with most games like Kings Throne: Game of Lust, you’ll have a lot of rewards to claim as you play. You don’t really need to aim to complete anything, these will just come naturally. Make sure that you claim from:

• Numbered main quests
• Quest icon on the bottom bar – daily, weekly and progression + for each when the chest glows at the top, click to gain more rewards.
• At the top left of your main screen is “Benefits”, only check if it’s glowing. Most can be ignored but you can claim rewards from Daily Login (each day) and Kingdom level (when you go up a level).
• At the top right of your main screen is “Events”, only check if it has a red exclamation mark. Within this section will several events – again only click if there is an exclamation mark on it and claim all rewards.
• Check your mail at the bottom of the Castle screen – sometime you’ll be given rewards in that section.

Other Non-Quest but Useful Tasks

These tasks are not required to progress through the Main Quest Line but may reward you with various resources and check off daily/weekly/progress quests which also give rewards.

• Harbour: Fight the bosses here with your heroes to receive rewards.
• Join an alliance, do alliance boss battles, redeem alliance contributions
• Feast Hall: Join feasts or host feasts
