JustPlay is a mobile app for Android that pays you to play games. The amount you earn is solely dependent on how long you spend in-game. This differs from offerwalls where you need to complete goals to earn. So, with JustPlay, the more time you spend in-game, the more you earn.
As you play games you have an ad overlay at the bottom, and you also see full-page video ads during play. So, the reality is that you earn by watching ads while you play mobile games.
JustPlay is known for having a convoluted conversion of coins to actual cash which appears almost random (it isn’t though and we’ll get on to that).

Despite its convoluted coin conversion process, JustPlay is absolutely 100% legit and not a scam. We’ve cashed out multiple times and have always been paid via whatever payment method we choose. However, I don’t like the way they handle coin-to-cash conversions as it is clouded in mystery for most. We’ll give some clarity on that below though.
As you can see below, after only a short time of playing on our first day of using the app, we were able to cash out twice. Not big money, but free money:

The concept of the JustPlay app is similar to Mistplay and it simply pays you for the amount of time spent in-game. As noted, you’re really being paid for the ads you watch, but from your perspective that’s not a very important distinction.
In the JustPlay app, there are a small selection of games:
Simply click the game and you’ll get a pop-up to confirm that you’ll be earning from your time spent in that game:
The game you chose will pop-up and you can just play as you normally would. As you’re playing, you will see ads under the game and also full-screen video ads. As time ticks on, in the background, your JustPlay coin balance will be increasing. The coins of course can later be converted to cash and withdrawn via PayPal, gift card, or Google Play Credit.
You also have to make sure that you earn enough coins within the current withdrawal cycle (a few hours) in order to pay out. Luckily you can generally reach this within about 10-15 mins of playing:

Now let’s look at how to earn more money with JustPlay including a range of tips and tricks to maximize how much money you can earn:
First of all, as we’ve mentioned, the major way to earn is simply by spending time playing games. But as we also covered, really you’re being paid to watch the ads that are in that game. While this isn’t especially important, it gives us a clue about how to earn even more.
Bearing in mind that, more ads mean more coins, which means more cash we need to look at how to maximize your ad views. When you’re playing a game, if you lose you’re given a choice to continue. If you click continue, you will immediately be shown an ad. So, even though it may seem counterintuitive, try to frequently lose the games you’re playing to make sure you watch the maximum amount of ads possible.
It also means that you shouldn’t close the app and re-open to avoid ads. You want ads, that is what you’re being paid for here!
Certain games within the JustPlay app have a “Most Coins” banner. Of course you should try to prioritise your time playing these games to maximize your earnings. However, it is not as simple as that, because if you continually play only a single game, the earnings per minute will reduce over time.
Because your earnings will slow if you stick to a single game, try to change it up. We suggest switching games every 20 minutes or so to get that “new game boost” of extra coins.
In the JustPlay app, you can also opt to simply watch an ad. They call it a video, but it is just a video ad. You’ll earn 2,000 coins every time you do this and you can watch an ad once every 2 minutes. It’s not as fast an earner as playing games but it requires next to zero attention.
In addition to being paid for your playtime, you can also use JustPlay’s offerwall. Offerwalls are a staple of get-paid-to sites like Swagbucks and Gain.gg. Essentially, you are given goals for a game, such as reaching level X and as a reward you earn coins that are of course then converted to cash.
However, even though this is an opportunity to earn we suggest that you stick with the more established offerwalls on sites like Swagbucks and Gain.gg as you will earn significantly more money from them. Now, we come to the complex part of JustPlay, the payouts. It’s clear that you earn coins for playing games (watching ads), and that those coins can then be converted into cash. You can choose to withdraw to PayPal (recommended), Google Play credit, or a variety of gift cards.
That seems simple, so where is the complexity? It is multi-fold. The amount that coins are worth in cash is not a direct conversion, it varies wildly. Additionally, you are only allowed to withdraw at designated times. So, let’s look at how this works:
The answer to how much JustPlay coins are worth in actual cash is, unfortunately, “it depends”. Whereas most sites will have a conversion of coins to USD or GBP that is exactly the same on every withdrawal, JustPlay works on the most complex, and quite frankly bizarre process we’ve ever seen. Below we take JustPlay’s published info to put together a JustPlay coin calculator table that gives an idea of the chances of what your coins will be worth.
This information comes directly from the JustPlay app and describes what 1 million coins (about 1 hour of playtime) is converted to in USD. The problem is that it apparently depends on how much each advertiser paid for the video you watched, time spent in the game, and achievements in games.
Let’s take a look:

So, what does it mean? Well, if you earn 1 million coins, you are most likely to earn between $0.10 and $6 for those coins when you cash out. Quite a large spread. Also, it’s worth noting that this is for the USA only, so conversions in other countries may be lower or higher.
You will not know how much they are worth until the withdrawal time hits zero. Oh yeah, there is a withdrawal timer and if you miss it, you need to wait hours until you can withdraw again.
The value of your coins will not be known until the JustPlay withdrawal timer hits zero.
Additionally, if you miss this timer, you will have to wait hours until the timer hits zero again and you’re allowed to withdraw. It sounds sketchy, but we can confirm that they do payout if you manage to time it right.
And remember, in order for your coins to be added to the cashout pot, you need to have met that cycle’s payment goal.
The JustPlay app is a great way to earn money mindlessly playing games for cash. What helps is that games are actually quite addictive and fun to play. If you don’t want to concentrate too much on what you’re doing, it’s a great way to monetize your downtime.
I like that they also offer simple ad viewing and a built-in offerwall to boost your earnings.
But, it’s not all positive. Because of the way they convert coins to cash, you have absolutely no way of knowing how much you’ve earned before you go to withdraw. It could be $17 or it could be $0.10. Not knowing what you’re earning is a bit of a hit to motivation.
In addition, the time-limited withdrawal cycle is quite frankly annoying as it does not respect your time. Missed the timer? Tough, you now need to wait another few hours to withdraw…
But that being said, it is still an app we recommend having on your phone. Throw an hour of mindless gaming into the mix and you could earn a decent chunk of cash.
Let me be clear, you won’t earn a fortune with JustPlay but you earn a fair amount of cash for mindlessly playing simple mobile games. Don’t spend your day on this, but when you’re crashing on the sofa on an evening, throw a few minutes into it and get a bit of spare cash. Over time it will add up.
We suggest using it in combination with Mistplay, which is actually a better implementation of the play-to-earn model. It works in a much more simple way, where you earn cash based on play time.
