How to earn money with Constant Content via writing articles. Full Constant Content review and earning guide to make cash just by writing.
Constant Content is a site that will pay you for the articles you write. Unlike most other content mills, Constant Content works primarily as a marketplace rather than focussing on client requests.
It means that you can write articles in bulk, price them, and list them without any restrictions. Think of it as eBay for your articles.
But this approach work in reality and can you actually make good money from Constant Content?
Constant Content is one of the oldest article marketplaces online. It was founded in 2003 and is still going strong today. It pays you to write articles that are bought by clients. It operates in a different way than most content mills and rather than responding to requests for specific articles, you write an article on any topic you choose and list it for sale at the price that you choose.
It does also feature requests for specific articles, but they are few and far between. The marketplace is the big earner here and Constant Content estimates that most people will sell between 50% and 75% of the articles that they submit.
But does this approach to making money from writing articles work in reality? Let’s dive in and find out.
We always do a check to ensure that sites are legit. And with Constant Content you’ll be happy to hear that it is a 100% legit, safe, and real way to earn money online by writing and selling articles.
It has been in operation for an astonishing 20+ years and is well known amongst the article-writing community.
Additionally, we’ve sold articles on the platform and received payment in a timely manner.
From a security standpoint, it is secured via SSL and there is nothing of concern in this area.
The great news is that Constant Content is available worldwide. No matter what country you live in, you will be able to join Constant Content. However, you will need to ensure that you are fluent in English, as all articles must be English language. So, this is an international earning opportunity for writers.
The one requirement they have is that you must be 18 years of age or over to join Constant Content. This may come as a bit of a blow to younger aspiring writers.
Remember: If you’re not eligible to join, then check out our huge list of ways to earn online by writing/writing articles to see what else is available to you. In fact, even if you can join Constant Content, it makes sense to join multiple content mills to maximize your earnings.
As we’ve mentioned, where most sites rely on clients requesting you to write specific articles, Constant Content handles things differently. Essentially you write an article on whatever topic you want and submit it to the Constant Content marketplace. From there, buyers will browse all articles and buy those that meet their needs.
This approach means you can bulk write/add articles which gives you a lot of freedom. You’re also free to set your own per article/per word price. Typically you’ll be looking at 10 to 15 cents per word or more for the more complex topics such as law/medical.
This freedom comes with opportunities but also pitfalls that you want to avoid. Make sure to read on to understand how to maximize your Constant Content sales & earnings below.
So of course, the only method to earn money on Constant Content is by writing articles. But as with all content mills, there are a set of specific tips and tricks that you can use to maximize your sales and your earnings.
The ability to submit any article to the marketplace offers maximum freedom but if you don’t think it through you could be losing out on sales and earnings. So let’s look in detail at how to make money with Constant Content and more importantly how to maximize those earnings.
Signing up to Constant Content will require more than the usual profile creation. Firstly you will need to pass an English language grammar test. If you’re a native speaker with a decent grasp of grammar and word usage you’ll pass with flying colours. Just make sure that you take your time and don’t rush. Remember, you can always do a quick Google search to fill any gaps in your knowledge.
After the test, you will be asked to write a short writing sample/article. This article will be reviewed by a real person at Constant Content. This is an equally important step, so make sure that you follow the instructions carefully, that your grammar and spelling are on-point, and that it is a perfectly crafted article.
You must pass both to be accepted into the Constant Content marketplace.
As mentioned, the joining requirements include a sample article that must be reviewed by a staff member at Constant Content. Typically you can expect this process to take between 24 hours and 1 week. The turnaround is usually quite fast, which makes sense as they benefit from having as many authors on the platform as possible.
The Constant Content marketplace is the primary way of earning cash by writing articles with Constant Content. The marketplace concept means that you write an article on whatever topic you want and price it at whatever price you want. This sounds fantastic (and it is) but it means that you need to very carefully consider the topic and the pricing yourself.
So, let’s look at not only how to submit an article to the Constant Content marketplace, but how to ensure that the article(s) you submit earn you the maximum amount of cash possible.
Just because you have free reign on what topics you write about, doesn’t mean that you should just start knocking out random articles. Remember, real people are buying your articles. There needs to be a demand for those articles. And the higher the demand, the more likely you are to sell any given article.
The best place to start is the handy listing of what content has sold recently on Constant Content:
From our analysis, we have found that the topics that tend to sell well on Constant Content are:
Additionally, “listicles” tend to sell well. This means those articles with titles such as “10 ways to..” and “6 tips that will…”.
Remember that trends come and go, so regularly check the live recent sales listing and use that to determine what articles you will write.
Next, your other piece of freedom on Constant Content is that you can charge whatever you want for your articles. But if you charge too much they likely won’t sell, and if you charge too little, you’re leaving money on the table.
Again, the recent sales list is our friend here. Pay close attention to not only the sale price but also the word count.
From our analysis, it seems that $20 – $25 is the most common sales price. We suggest that initially, this is what you set your prices at. Over time you can then test by raising prices to see if it leads to more earned per month or less.
But that’s not the whole story. Think about word count. Most articles sold range in length from between 500 to 800 words. Some are significantly more. What you need to think about is your earnings per word.
| Number of Words | Article Price | Pay Per Word |
|---|---|---|
500 | $25 | 5 cents per word |
750 | $25 | 3.3 cents per word |
1,000 | $25 | 2.5 cent per word |
The calculation is easy of course. It’s just the article price divided by the number of words. But it highlights the importance of word count. You could write two 500 word articles and get $50, or a single 1,000 article and get just $25. The maths are clear on this one. In reality you should be looking at somewhere between 500 and 1,000 words to even things out.
So now you should have a good idea of a topic, a title, and what to charge. Once you’ve written the article it’s time to submit it. Thankfully this process is very straightforward. It’s a simple form where you enter some information about the article and paste in the content of the article itself.
After that, you set your price and submit. It needs to be reviewed by Constant Content which can take a day or two. Once reviewed, it is listed on the marketplace for others to buy.
Two points that I’d like to make first that are present in the screenshot above. The first is the writer guidelines link at the top. Make sure you’ve read it and that your article conforms to the rules. Otherwise, you’ll end up getting a rejection.
Secondly, check out the “Guided Submission” switch in the top right. Clicking this will give you a breakdown of what you’re expected to do for each section. This can be helpful for your first few submissions.
You are at the whim of the people buying articles, but if you’ve focussed your article topic and pricing as we’ve outlined above you’ll already be ahead of the game. There’s not much more you can do other than one very, very important step:
Write. in. bulk.
This is a numbers game. Of course, keep your quality of writing high but you’re going to need to churn out a lot of content to make constant earnings here. Think of it practically, if you submit only one article then the chances of that selling are low. But if you drop 100 articles onto Constant Content then your chances of a sale multiply by a factor of 100.
This is how content mills work. More volume means more sales which means more money in your pocket.
We’ve talked about how Constant Content is a marketplace, but it also has an article requests section. Here you will find people who want articles on a specific topic.
Our experience is that these requests are few and far between. But it is an additional way to earn. And it is helpful if you’re running out of ideas on topics. It helps you focus and generate a specific article that you know has demand.
Another 2 opportunities to earn with Constant Content are casting calls and standing requests. Casting calls are where clients are looking for people to apply to write for them. These can be lucrative but again, unfortunately, they are few and far between. That being said, if you see a casting call, make sure you apply if you fit the criteria.
Next are the standing requests. These are from Constant Content themselves where they have identified a demand for certain articles. You should jump on these as soon as you see them because as we know, high demand means quick sales.
Writer pool requests on Constant Content are typically targeted towards people with certain certifications, or knowledge or who are based in a certain country. This shows the importance of keeping your profile up to date.
These are typically project-based, so expect a steady stream of work if you can bag yourself access to these.
Private requests are requests for articles directed solely to you. The client will have either purchased from you before in the marketplace or likes the look of your profile. You can’t really do much to ensure that you get private requests other than keeping your profile up to date and keeping your article quality high.
These requests can often turn into long-running relationships for article writing, so don’t sleep on these if they pop up in your dashboard.
Opportunity
It’s a tough question to answer. The amount of money you can make on Constant Content is dependent primarily on how many quality articles you can churn out. The more you write (and submit to the marketplace), the more you will earn. Constant Content estimates that most authors sell between 50% and 75% of all articles that they submit, so take that into account.
We suggest keeping your article count as high as possible.
Let’s look at an example with some sample figures to see how much money you can make with Constant Content:
Of course, if you write more articles, that figure will go up. As you can see it is not an astounding amount of money by any means, but an additional $500 a month for an hour or two of work per day is acceptable in my opinion.
This is the part I don’t really about Constant Content. They used to pay via PayPal but now they’ve changed to a more convoluted payment system. Now the Constant Content payment methods to get paid into your bank use a middle-man payment method – either Stripe or Wise. From there you can withdraw into your bank account.
The good news is that you don’t need to request payouts. As long as you are over the threshold for payouts, you will be paid in the first week of the month.
Now, the threshold differs depending on which country you live in which is a little unfair as the difference is very large:
I’m not sure what the logic is here, but it is disappointing for those based outside of the US. That being said, you should only need to sell around 3 articles to get to $50 (after Constant Content takes its cut).

Read MoreConstant Content is a long-term player in the content mill business and as such has a good deal of demand from those wanting to purchase articles. The marketplace approach is a fantastic way to earn because it means that you do not need to wait for a request and can churn out potentially hundreds of articles that will gradually sell over time.
The downside to this though is that in order to compete, especially early on you will need to lower your article price to around $20 – $25. That added to Constant Content’s quite frankly unfair 35% commission cut means that you will be writing on the cheap.
That said, I feel that the marketplace structure that allows for such a huge volume of article submissions, added to the fact that you can write about anything outweighs these low pay rates. You can churn out high volumes of content and let it sit until it sells.
Another plus point is that you’re only really looking at 500-750 words needed per article which means you can rapidly get your stock of articles up on the Constant Content platform.
Overall, Constant Content is a very unique way to sell your articles and offers maximum freedom. However, we suggest signing up for several that you can cycle through. The more platforms that you’re part of, the more you will earn. It’s that simple.
There’s always more to ask, so even though we’ve laid out the full Constant Content review and guide above, we’ve packed some extra information into our FAQ.
Typically, it takes around 3-5 days for Constant Content to review the articles that you submit. Assuming all is well with the article, it will then appear in the marketplace for sale.
Yes, as a writer Constant Content is completely free. There are no membership fees or joining fees. However, Constant Content will take a 35% cut of all article sales that you make on the platform.
Constant Content is available worldwide. So anyone 18 years of age or older from any country in the world can join Constant Content and earn some extra cash by selling the articles that they write.
There’s a lot of information to digest here, and people often as if Constant Content is worth it. We believe that yes Constant Content is worth your time and effort due to the marketplace approach. It means that there is no waiting around for requests and you can pump out potentially hundreds of articles to place onto the marketplace. The 50% – 75% sales rate means that a good portion of your effort will be rewarded.
There are things to consider though, in terms of demand for the topic of your article. The other tips and tricks that we mention above are crucial to keep your earning figures high.
We suggest anyone wanting to make money from writing articles to join Constant Content, but as always this should be in addition to joining other content mills for maximum earnings.
