Cash Giraffe is an app that pays you to play mobile games, working on a play to earn model. The amount you earn is purely based on the amount of time that you spend gaming.
It follows a similar format to apps like Mistplay, and works in a very similar way to Playtime Rewards.
But can you really earn money just by playing mobile games with Cash Giraffe? Read on to find out all in our complete review and earning guide below.
Cash Giraffe is an Android app that pays you to play mobile games. Effectively Cash Giraffe is a play to earn opportunity. Your earnings are purely based on the amount of time you spend in-game, so there’s no need to complete any tasks or really pay any attention to the game you’re playing. That’s what makes this a nice way to earn – zero attention needed so you can make money with Cash Giraffe almost on autopilot.
Cash Giraffe tracks your playtime in the background, which is why this is an Android-only app. iOS users unfortunately cannot benefit as Apple does not allow this kind of tracking.
The app has been around since 2022, is available globally, and is simple enough to use. Play games, earn coins, and then withdraw as PayPal or gift cards. But is it really that simple? Let’s take a look at the reality and just as importantly, how to maximize how much you earn from Cash Giraffe.
The good news is that Cash Giraffe is not a scam and is a legit way to earn a little money just by playing mobile games. Cash Giraffe itself earns money by promoting games from other companies (to you), and in turn, you get a cut of those profits for spending time in-game.
We can confirm that we were able to earn cash by playing games and able to withdraw our earnings directly to PayPal.
One aspect of Cash Giraffe that tends to worry people is that you must grant it access to monitor apps in the background. This is essential for it to be able to track your game time. All similar apps such as Mistplay work in this same way, and it is nothing to be concerned about as it only records your time played for specific games.
In summary, Cash Giraffe is a legit and safe way to earn some extra cash and is thankfully, not a scam.

As of writing, it has 5 million downloads and 168,000 reviews with an overall rating of 4.3 stars out of 5.
As above, the Cash Giraffe works in a reasonably simple way. You play free games on your mobile and earn gems which can then be withdrawn to PayPal or as gift cards. The amount you earn varies per game and actually reduces over time for any individual game. This means that there needs to be some thought around how you earn money from Cash Giraffe.
Let’s take a look at the whole process as there are some quirks worth noting:
As mentioned, Cash Giraffe is only available for Android and can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store. You’ll be expected to log in either via email, or you just by connecting your Google account directly.
The first thing you’ll notice is the request to grant access to usage data. This is a requirement in order to earn from Cash Giraffe. It may be a concern to some, but all this allows for is the tracking of the amount of time you spend in the games you’ll be playing via Cash Giraffe.
Just hit the grant button, and then on the screen that follows, select the checkbox/button next to Cash Giraffe to actually grant the permissions.
Cash Giraffe has a nice sign-up bonus that is automatically applied as soon as you open the app. You will be given 3599 gems for free which converts to around £0.25 or $0.30 of free cash (or your country’s equivalent). While this isn’t a huge amount of cash, it is completely free and there are no restrictions for withdrawing it.
In fact, for us after playing a game for only 3 minutes, the gems we earned plus the free gems allowed us to reach the minimal withdrawal of £0.29. And in comparison to other apps, that is a fantastically low withdrawal minimum.
Now you’ve snagged your bonus, you can select your first game to play and start earning gems (that can be converted to cash). You will see only a single game available at first. For us it was Match Masters. Don’t worry, once you install the first game, other games will become available in the Featured area.
Just hit the “Start Playing” button and you’ll be taken to the Google Play Store to download the game. Once downloaded, just open and play the game. Nothing else is needed as Cash Giraffe will now be tracking your playtime for this game.
As you can see, before downloading you will be shown the gem earnings rate per minute played. This differs from game to game and will gradually reduce over time (so it pays to switch regularly).
If you head back to the app and into the “My Apps” section you will see how long you’ve played the game for, how many gems you’ve earned and an updated per minute earning rate (that does require a little bit of calculation on your part).
After you’ve played a few minutes of your first game, you will see that your list of available games will have increased. Each of these games will have different gem-per-minute earning rates.
It is important to regularly switch to these new games, as any game that you play will begin earning you fewer gems per minute over time. Compare what you have available in the Featured section with the earning stats for your current game (in “my apps”).
When you’ve earned enough gems to cash out you just need to head over to the payouts section. The withdrawal limits are pleasantly low and you can withdraw from as low as around £0.29 (or your country equivalent). Your options are PayPal or a gift card. We suggest PayPal as it’s effectively cash in hand.
We’ll take a look at the payout process, options, and timings in more detail toward the end of the review.
This may seem obvious, but people often complain about low earnings per minute. Now as we’ve seen, each game has a different gem-per-minute earning rate. So, don’t select a game that you think looks interesting, pick the highest earner. And remember, you don’t need to actually achieve anything in these games. You just need to be active. Really all this means is a bit of clicking around in-game every 20 seconds or so.
The games available change over time so make sure to keep checking back on the “Featured” tab in Cash Giraffe. This simple step can result in your earning double the amount of gems per minute.
And this leads us on to the next tip:
Over time, any game that you play via Cash Giraffe will gradually reduce its earning rate per minute. So, in our example above, we started at 345 gems per minute with Match Masters. After 30 minutes of playing, we were earning 459 gems per 221 seconds, which is 120 gems per minute.
So as a result it would make more sense for us to then change to another game such as Yahtzy:
In doing this we double our rate of earning. Don’t just hang around on the same game as you will be wasting your precious earning time.
Opportunity
Get-paid-to sites such as Swagbucks, Gain.gg and Lootup have offerwalls that also pay you to play games. When you install the game via these sites and complete certain offerwall tasks in-game you will earn a nice chunk of cash, normally ranging from $10 right up to $100+.
That means, that if you see an app in Cash Giraffe, do not install it straight away. Check out the offerwalls on the sites above, or check out our full list of get-paid-to sites and download it from there first. When you launch the game, you will earn from both the offerwall and from Cash Giraffe’s per-minute earnings.
This approach can skyrocket how much you earn by playing games online.
Note: Always download the game from the get-paid-to site first. It will only track your task completion if installed via that site. Cash Giraffe on the other hand does not care where the app is installed from.
Cash Giraffe has a referral program in place where you can refer your friends. You will earn an initial 200 gems, which is admittedly not much but you will also earn 25% of all of the gems that they ever earn.
It is a little bit clunky however as they require you to share directly from the app to Facebook. And it posts a QR code rather than a direct link. A strange approach for sure but it can be a good earner if enough of your friends sign up and use the app.
Let me be clear, Cash Giraffe is absolutely not going to make you rich. The hourly earning rate will be low, but this is offset by the fact that you don’t really need to do anything to earn. You can mindlessly click around in the game and behind the scenes your earnings go up.
For a real-life example of how much money you can make with Cash Giraffe, let’s look at what we were able to earn during testing:
The first 3 minutes included our bonus earnings, so not accurate for an hourly rate. If we look at the next 30 minutes, we earned enough gems to go from £0.29 to £0.58. Meaning that we were earning £0.29 per half hour or £0.58 per hour. If you idle your phone on games for 10 hours a day, that’s around £5-£6 a day.
Overall the earnings are painfully low, but factor in that this can be earned without paying attention and it’s an easy way to earn some pocket change while watching Netflix on an evening.
Cash Giraffe has 2 major ways to get paid. PayPal and Gift Cards. The withdrawal limits for PayPal are much lower at £0.29, when compared to gift cards which are £2.50-£5 depending on the card. Of course, these amounts will differ depending on your own local currency.

The process of requesting a payout should be simple but we had some difficulties that we were able to overcome eventually. You need to head to the Payout tab and then be sure to click on the “More Payouts” tab because by default Cash Giraffe defaults to showing you poor “special offers” which are percentages off certain subscriptions and purchases. Our advice, avoid these and go for the real payouts:

When choosing PayPal, you will need to log into your PayPal account and share data with Cash Giraffe. This sounds scary, but you can read on the PayPal login that it just passes info such as name, email, and account verification status. This is how Cash Giraffe protects against fraud.
Once you do so, your gem amount will be reduced and your payment will begin pending.
As bizarre as it sounds, we struggled with the PayPal login. Cash Giraffe have things set up in an awkward way where if you try to paste in your password, or 2 factor authentication code it will refresh the login form and take you back to the start. To overcome this we had to note our 2 factor code, quickly login and manually type the code in. A bit of a pain but it worked in the end.
The Cash Giraffe payout time via PayPal can take up to 5 business days but we were paid in less than a day. So, a pretty quick turnaround on payment which is a huge plus for those wanting a bit of extra cash quickly.

Cash Giraffe is an app for Android that pays you per minute that you play selected mobile games. It’s very similar to Mistplay and Justplay but works purely on a paid per game time model. While earnings are low, and by low we mean just over £0.50 per hour, it is for the most part passive. Technically you are getting paid to play games but in reality, you can leave games to idle, just clicking every now and then to keep it active.
Cash Giraffe will not make you rich but if you follow our methods to maximize your earnings above you can pull in around £5 or your country’s equivalent, per day. And this means that if you are dedicated you can potentially pull in £35 a week.
Our advice is that rather than using Cash Giraffe as a standalone earning method, that you double up with offerwall offers from the likes of Swagbucks. By doing this, you can earn big money for completing tasks in a game via Swagbucks, while double dipping with Cash Giraffe’s pay-per-minute.
The biggest benefit is the low, low minimum withdrawal via PayPal. This is around £0.29 or $0.35. Not many apps or sites allow withdrawals so low. And we found the payment time to be very quick at around 1 day, although officially it can take up to 5 days.
The big benefit of the app is that you can earn money with very little attention needed. So while the pay is low, so is the effort required. For that reason we do suggest trying it out. And remember, because of the bonus gems you receive on sign-up, you can reach the minimum payout within about 3 minutes which is a rapid way to grab some extra pocket change.
